Maker’s Mark® is still handcrafted the way our founders, Margie & Bill Samuels Sr. intended when they invented it in 1953. Each label is hand-cut, every barrel is hand rotated, and each bottle is hand-dipped in our signature red wax. Bottled at 90 proof, and made with red winter wheat, each part of the process is carefully considered to produce a smoother tasting whisky. Purposefully made by hand, the wheated mashbill provides a sweeter and softer flavor profile maximizing flavors without the bite.
Brand Heritage:
Maker’s Mark® is known the world over for its handmade premium bourbon. Created by sixth generation distiller Bill Samuels, Sr. in 1953, the smooth and approachable nature changed the bourbon industry. Still family run -- now by Bill’s grandson Rob Samuels -- Makers Mark® continues to innovate, creating bourbons that are as easy-drinking as they are revolutionary. To this day, every drop is made slowly in small batches, in the National Historic Landmark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky.

No matter the time of year, this honeyed take on the Whisky Sour will have you feeling like you’re soaking up summer rays as golden as the drink itself. Add two parts Maker’s Mark® Bourbon, 3/4 parts lemon juice and 3/4 parts honey syrup to an ice-filled shaker. Give it a good shake, strain over ice into rocks glass, garnish with lemon wedge and enjoy.
Tasting Notes:
Maker’s Mark Classic Bourbon is a full-flavored whisky, designed with sharing in mind. It has a woody oak aroma with hints of caramel and vanilla.
